In her series titled, “Drifting,” artist Amy Krone explores the ways in which climate change has increased the frequency and severity of major flooding events throughout the world by utilizing pieces drift wood uprooted during flooding events where she lives to use as the focal point of her basketry.
It is in taking something devastating and giving it a new life that the artist shows that there is hope for a world that can’t stop increasing it’s carbon footprint, and continues to consume at astonishing rates.
It is possible to change the trajectory of our climate crisis, but we must first change the way that we live and consume.
